The Great Falls is greatly falling

The Great Falls at Ryan Dam picnic area
With all the rain, we had to take a look at the Great Falls of the Missouri at Ryan Dam to see what old-timers are calling a record spill.
The falls are certainly churning and spraying.
The trip also gave us a chance to reacquaint ourselves with the picnic area there.
What a lovely place.
The new trees that replaced the dying elms and ash are coming along nicely and providing some shade.
The grass is greener than I’ve ever seen it.
There was a steady stream of tourists coming to witness the spill.
This is the week of the Lewis and Clark Festival, so many of them are from out of state.
