Awesome! I've been wondering about this!!
I bought the book for my little nephew who is visiting from Illinois this summer. We'll probably just go to Our Lake, but thought it would be a good way to get him excited--and it is!I have one question. On the Headquarters Pass hike you talk about using the trail to approach a climb of Rocky Mountain, possibly by the Western Ridge. Have you ever climbed the Western Ridge? Is there significant exposure? I have often wanted to try it, but have always 'chickened out' and climbed the scree field (ugh!).Thanks for all of the great hikes!
Will the book be available in stores in Helena?
To Gee Guy: Yes, I've done the Western Ridge four different times, and there is significant exposure....about Class 3-4 in spots....but doable. To Rod: Yes. The book is co-published by Riverbend Press in Helena, which has copies. I think Base Camp will also have.
