Backcountry skiing has begun

At 747 cutoff on Moose Creek Road.

First turns of the year on Speculation at Showdown

Just a short post to let folks know that backcountry skiing, while a bit short of good snow, has begun.
I got out on Nov. 19 and Nov. 28, both in the Kings Hill area of the Little Belt Mountains.
The snow is not very good, so bring your rock skis.  The base hasn't really set up.  Turns are tough.  On Showdown hill, the snow is good enough to pull turns, though.
One day we did the Moose Creek-747 cutoff to Porphyry and on Saturday a tour around the D-Loop on Silvercrest.
